Creating and changing users

Christian Schulz Updated by Christian Schulz

As an administrator of a MATE account, you are free to create new users with roles and correspondingly different user rights within the account settings at any time. To do this, the admin assigns the user name of the new user and enters an e-mail address. Whether the user receives his password manually or can set it himself is also a decision of the admin. Furthermore, you can also deactivate users who should no longer have access to your account.

The creation of a new user

The following section explains how to create a new user in MATE. If you have been assigned the appropriate administrative rights under Roles, you can create new users. For more information about roles and the associated usage rights, click here

'User activated'

Please note that only really activated users may work with MATE. It is therefore important when creating a new user to remember to always check 'User activated' to ensure that the new user is actually activated.

You can also consider this function as a safety precaution. If a user should no longer have access rights to MATE, simply open the corresponding user (by clicking on the user or on the pencil symbol) and remove the check mark for 'User activated'. This will deactivate the user and he will no longer have access to the MATE account.

Visibility groups and new users

If the feature "Visibility Groups" has been activated for you, you have the possibility to assign a visibility group to a new user directly when creating one. As soon as an assignment has been made, the newly created user can only see the events of the selected visibility group. Please note that you can also assign a user to more than one visibility group.

More about visibility groups can be found here.
